What is Uncertainty- It’s good to be in the space of uncertainty in that place is an opportunity for new discovery. It’s like the opening of a lotus flower one petal at a time each unfolding is new discovery to the center of truth. I love Kung Fu because it is a path to myself. Not from an ego sense or self-centered point of view but as a self-exploration.
What is Being Powerful- Being great and powerful is being true to who you are, being authentic and coming from a place of love and not from ego.
What is Teaching Martial Arts- For me, teaching Kung Fu is not about cultivating killers but cultivating liberators. I try to show each student the way to their own personal freedom so they can express themselves honestly and without fear.

- For 17 years I have studied Fu Jow Pai (Tiger Claw System) and have been involved with the martial arts since the age of 12. In 1996 I enrolled in the Fu Jow Pai system under Master Shue Yiu Kwan and have taken classes with Grand Master Wai Hong. In 2001 I became an instructor at Kwan’s Kung Fu. Other systems that I have studied are Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Judo and Shotokan Karate. For me martial arts are as much about self-defense as it is about self-expression. We train our bodies to express ourselves authentically. So we learn martial arts to know ourselves and express who we are. I teach the student not the system and I never teach the same way for each person. Each is an individual and must be taught according to his or her own talents. As a Kung Fu instructor, I’ve been able to bring my program to schools, camps and I’ve also taught Kung Fu to autistic children and adults. In addition, I’m a member of the Kwan’s Kung Fu Lion Dance Team and a fight choreographer for stage and film. I attained a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from Purchase College. I currently teach in Pleasantville and Tarrytown, NY.

I'm certainly learning a lot about living with uncertainty. I can honestly say that most manifestations of it in my life, I have not only come to accept, but embrace. I now love living with uncertainty, and ejoying the adventure that follows. There are still parts of my life that I wish I was more certain about, but I'm learning to embrace them as well. When you get a chance, bro, see the new Pixar movie "Up". Probably one of the finest films I have seen in a long, long time.
